So apparently on Wednesday, Corky Miller outright refused to sign with the Reds and elected to become a free agent. Fine with me. Later in the day though, he signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
So what happened here? Who knows. I doubt he wanted more money and I'm sure he wasn't really testing the free agent market. This guy isn't great. In his 10 year career, he has 11 home runs. Wow. I could hit 11 HRs in 10 years (not really).
If you want a chance to play for a great franchise like the Reds, take it.
